Free guide – why we overeat and what to do about it
Helping clients learn why they are overweight is the first thing that I cover on my 12-week ‘Lose Weight for the Last Time’ program. Understanding why we overeat is vital for everyone who wants to stop overeating, lose weight and know that they won’t regain it.
Over 98% of people who lose weight through dieting put that weight back on again.
I know just how miserable life can feel on the lose weight– gain weight rollercoaster. I took many different variations of that ride for more than twenty years. Sometimes hanging on for dear life, fearful that if I ‘fell off’ I would never get ‘back on’. I never really felt in control of my weight loss before I followed the steps on my program and ‘finally got it’ and had ‘everything clicks into place’. I really want that for you too.
But first, I need you to get honest with yourself about the fact that if you are overweight then you are overeating. You are eating more food than your body requires for fuel and the excess is being processed into fat. It is impossible to be overweight if you don’t eat more food than your body needs.
BUT, I hear my clients say, I ‘eat the same as my friend and they’re not overweight’, or ‘being overweight runs in my family, its genetic’, ‘I have a hormone imbalance’, or ‘I’m menopausal’. I understand. These statements may well be true and yet still the fact remains, if you are overweight, it is because you are overeating.
I invite you to be curious, to figure out why you are eating more food than you need, and to become more connected and conscious with yourself.
